COIN COLLECTING MERIT BADGE CLASS - SATURDAY October 12th, 2024
Scouts, would you like to earn your Coin Collecting Merit Badge in just one day? Then you, your Troop or any Scouts you may know are invited to attend a class hosted by the Northwest Coin Club! The class takes place during our annual Northwest Money Show.
Both the show and class are held at the Heritage Center, 6155 Earle Brown Drive, Brooklyn Center, MN 55430. The class is on Saturday morning October 12th. Check in time begins at 8:30 and the class will run from 9:00 am to between 1:30 & 2:00pm. There are some coins you’ll need to collect in order to complete the class. Please refer to this downloadable workbook .for details on completing requirement #4.

The coin show starts on Friday and runs through Sunday. You will have an opportunity during this session to visit the show. So if you will be needing coins to complete your collection, please bring money so you can buy those at the show. You will leave with a "current" Kennedy Half dollar, so keep that in mind while working on your requirements.
I have individual Merit Badge Books and "Coin Collecting Merit Badge” coin folders also for each attendee. If all goes as planned you should be able to complete this Merit Badge that day! |
Registration is required! To Register I need...
- Each Scout’s name and Troop number.
- An emergency contact and phone number for each Scout for the day of the class.
- Bring your own worksheets and pencil. (complete as much as you can)

The cost for the class is $5.00. Please make out and send your checks to; George Ross, 4023 Hubbard Ave N, Robbinsdale, MN 55422. Please contact George Ross at [email protected] or call 763-242-1591. If you need a Merit Badge Book before class let me know.

A letter to the Northwest Coin Club...
Dear NWCC,
Whether it was the first Scout to get his Coin Collecting Merit Badge or ChaLee Yang one of the last in the group yesterday --I know they all were excited to learn so much from all of you, to tour the Expo and talk to adults who took the time to talk to them and to take that envelope filled with coins home to show to their family ..... you all made a Huge impression on these youth.
Thank You so much --I was truly amazed seeing so many adults being there for these kids ..
And then Today Sunday ...
You Did it Again !!! What a fun and another great learning experience for these kids ... and the parents Loved it too !!!
No matter what the kids came home with --they were thrilled --and They will be Back Next year for more--You have them hooked for sure .
Just to share...... the three children from the BC Hmong Family I brought
ChaLee Bid 4 times.. $50 each and came home with a book on Mohammad Ali - 2 set of coins and yes Ron that Empty folder of stamps Included 20 east coast Quarters --He was thrilled
His sister Kimee Bid $100 for the Shrek CD and coins and loved it
Younger sister YongCha waited too long to bid her $200.. so had nothing --but she knows to come early next week and Bid early too!!
All part of the fun day they had !!!
They all couldn't wait to tell their parents and G-parents and their 5 sibling at home about this COOL afternoon !!!
It was a pleasure to be part of both these days.. also I was so impressed with the vendors from all over the US --What a friendly group!!
