The Northwest Coin Club has been busy this year creating and showing various numismatic related items around town. Shown first below are exhibits entered in the Minnesota State Fair for 2015 and 2014. The display was created by disassembling a United States Type Collection and laying each page flat out beside each other between two pieces of lexan. This highly customized US Type Set includes some fantastic coins ranging from the early 1800’s to gorgeous gold coins AND includes fractional paper currency printed during civil war times.
Congrats to NWCC member Ron who worked hard at getting numismatics represented at the Minnesota State Fair. This year his exhibit titled “The Artistic Beauty of United States Stamps & Coins, Preserving our Nation’s History!” won a blue ribbon!
The next display shown below was located in the hallway between the Brookdale Library and the Hennepin County District Court in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota in September of 2014. This display is an overview of coin collecting intended to spark interest in new collectors. There is a little something for everyone young and old as well as information on our club and what we do
